Every emotion we experience is magnetic energy, drawing to itself that which sustains it. Negative emotions attract reminders of what we don't like, don't have, can't do in order to sustain itself. They attract people and environments that can feed negative energy. Emotions seek to build shrines and altars to themselves. Positive emotions work the same way.
The emotion we call peace, from a Buddhist perspective, is actually not an emotion. It is the vibration of the universe aware of itself, our essential nature. It does not seek to control and manipulate in order to sustain itself. It does not have that kind of biological nature. It cannot be achieved or sustained. It has no beginning or end, no cause and no effect. It is the stillness of awareness that transcends the striving of emotions, the highest vibratory energy we can experience in any lifetime.
