There are two kinds of dissent. There is the creative abrasion of engaged questioning, concerning, and critiquing. Then there is insubstantial push back that comes from a thinly veiled intention to postpone and avoid contribution. The first is a gift to be engaged in any conversation; the second is simply an existential refusal to show up.
